Sales Development Representative

OmniUpdate, Inc. is seeking a full-time enthusiastic, energetic member of our sales team with 1-3 years business experience to assist in generating leads for OmniUpdate’s Sales Department. The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will be responsible for identifying prospects, identifying proper contact info (including phone, email, and social accounts) and converting them to leads via outbound prospecting tactics (calls/emails/social media). This is a full-time position based in our Camarillo offices.  

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Conduct high volume prospecting (80-100 calls plus emails per day) to qualify leads through calls, emails, and social media
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Inside Sales Manager to optimize and implement appropriate prospecting strategies and cadences
  • Develop cold leads into discovered opportunities for Sales Representatives to further assess a prospect's business and potential New Customer opportunity
  • Manage handoffs to Business Development Representatives (BDR) and Sales Directors (SD)
  • Conduct needs qualification calls with specific prospects as assigned
  • Effectively utilize and update customer relationship management (CRM) database and sales enablement tools (Salesforce, Salesloft, and Gong)
  • Use effective writing, verbal, and presentation skills in composing written materials, responding to emails, and regular interaction with peers and prospects to solve issues
  • Participate in other projects as requested by members of the Sales & Marketing teams

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Sales, or relevant work experience
  • Minimum of one-year experience prospecting (identifying proper contacts and their related contact info), and outreach (cold calling, emails, social targeting)
  • Track record of high achievement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous successful sales experience OR a strong desire to begin a sales career
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment with peers who challenge you to be better
  • The desire to meet and exceed measurable performance goals
  • Naturally curious and passionate
  • The technical aptitude to master our sales tools
  • A keenly developed competitive nature
  • Highly self-driven sense of motivation
  • Strong understanding of phone, email, & social networking sales skills and the ability to deal with and thrive on objections and rejection on a daily basis.  
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • An understanding of web technologies and computer programming – a plus but not required.
