Quality Assurance Engineer (Development)

OmniUpdate is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to provide manual and automated testing, bug verification, internal documentation, and other QA assistance to the Development team. The Quality Assurance Engineer will undergo training on the OmniUpdate product line, but will be expected to have working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and web-related technologies. This is a full time position from the OmniUpdate offices in Camarillo, CA. This is not a telecommuting position.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Focus on implementing automation wherever possible to improve testing process 
  • Manually testing of our projects as well as reporting on these tests
  • Documenting testing efforts and testing plans
  • Communicating with Development team and Customer Support on QA-related issues

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Developing test plans and test strategies for OU Campus and related modules
  • Ability to create automated test scripts using tools/frameworks like Cucumber, Protractor, Selenium, etc.
  • Maintaining and managing test issues log and working with developers and management on identifying and retesting fixes
  • Experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML/XSL, PHP, ASP.NET, or other scripting languages
  • Experience configuring and working with web servers, databases, and remote services through SSH or remote desktop
  • Excellent focus on detail and writing clean maintainable code
  • Experience with project management or issue tracking tools like JIRA, Phabricator, or Bugzilla
  • Some experience working for technology related to higher education organizations or equivalent
  • Proficient with Windows and comfortable with Mac and Linux
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Service and teamwork orientation
  • Ability to think logically and communicate clearly and diplomatically
