Business Development Representative

OmniUpdate, Inc. is seeking a full-time enthusiastic, energetic Business Development Representative with business experience to assist in generating leads for OmniUpdate’s Sales Department. The BDR will primarily work over the phone to qualify leads and assist the Sales team in converting such leads into opportunities for OmniUpdate’s products and services. This may be a remote position or inside our Camarillo offices.  

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Contact potential and existing clients via email and phone to discover possible sales opportunities.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and client needs by actively pursuing potential candidates and following planned campaigns.
  • Provide support to Sales Directors by talking with potential sales opportunities and scheduling demonstration times.
  • Effectively utilize and update customer relationship management (CRM) database.
  • Use effective writing, verbal, and presentation skills in composing written materials, responding to emails, and regular interaction to solve issues.
  • Participate in other projects as requested by members of the Sales team.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of phone sales skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Goal oriented with a strong desire to succeed
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with changing priorities
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Strong work ethic and dependable
  • Good working knowledge of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office applications)
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Professional, logical, and highly motivated approach to work problems
  • Proficient in a multi-task environment; can type, text, email, and present via web and phone
  • An understanding of web technologies and computer programming – a plus but not required.
  • Previous telemarketing experience preferred
