Sales Engineer (Remote)

OmniUpdate has an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer (Technical Product Specialist) to support the sale and marketing of its web content management system (CMS), OU Campus. The ideal candidate will be technically savvy, have great written and oral presentation skills, and have experience working with CMS or web-related technology in the higher education environment. Successful candidates will receive training in the OmniUpdate product line. Business travel is required. Please note, while the Company's headquarters are located in Camarillo, CA, this position may be remote. 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Become a quick-study expert user of OU Campus
  • Support Sales with technical presentations and demonstrations
  • Coordinate pre- and post-sales technical efforts with Professional Services and Support
  • Assist with CMS documentation, development, and testing efforts
  • Build custom web templates using HTML, CSS, XML, XSLT from customer HTML/CSS
  • Customize sandbox environments of OU Campus
  • Maintain a responsive working relationship with clients and coworkers

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills
  • High level of work accuracy and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Working knowledge of responsive web design and frameworks such as Bootstrap and Foundation
  • Working knowledge of web technologies, browser compatibilities and standards-compliant code
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and WebEx

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience:   

  • Public speaking or teaching experience
  • Understanding of website accessibility standards
  • Working knowledge of a scripting language: PHP, ASP, CFM (PHP mainly)
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery
  • Work experience in technology company, higher education, or equivalent
