Web Developer (Customer Support)

OmniUpdate, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Support Specialist with a web development background to join our Customer Success Department. We need a web development professional who is inherently focused on customer satisfaction and product success to help our in-house team support our college and university customers who use our web content management system (CMS), OU Campus. This individual will be providing high-level technical support and developing custom solutions for customers.  This is a full-time position from our Camarillo offices. This is not a telecommuting position.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Become a quick-study expert user of OU Campus
  • Support OU Campus CMS for new and existing clients
  • Troubleshoot client websites and templates to run within the OU Campus software
  • Customize code modules, templates, and plugins to meet customer requirements
  • Scope, implement, troubleshoot, and deliver minor to moderate scope change projects
  • Provide advanced level support to front line support technicians

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of hands on Web Development Experience
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • Experience with JavaScript/AJAX and semantic HTML/XHTML and CSS
  • Experience with common libraries (jQuery, etc.) and debugging tools (Firebug, etc.)
  • Experience integrating front-end code with server-side technology
  • Excellent working knowledge of at least one scripting language: PHP, C#.NET, CFM, etc.
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Experience working with cross-browser behaviors and quirks
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, accessibility and usability
  • Responsive design skills preferred but not required
  • Experience with advanced XML manipulation and technologies, including XPath, XQuery, and XSLT a plus
